The Most Important Unread Book In America

The TV program “Law & Order” (which I used to watch constantly) and other TV media portray the “anti-war” demonstrators of the ’60s as conscientious objectors to an “immoral war”; concerned for the “murder” of thousands of U.S. servicemen and “millions” of “innocent” Vietnamese.  Well, it’s time to throw the BS card down – again.  Not to argue the righteouness or immorality of that war but to expose the most damning direct evidence that it was a lie …..and how that lie brought us to where we are politically today.

While working at the most corrupt Port of Entry in the U.S. – Douglas, Arizona- as an immigration inspector, I was tasked with mentoring a newly hired inspector.  Although very intelligent he had no business working on the U.S./Mexico border determining cases of illegal entry, drug smuggling, apprehending violent criminals, etc.  He  physically shook and stuttered so much working the line that motorists entering the U.S. through his lane would laugh out loud after their inspection.  I sat next to him at the office counter where a suspected “Documentary False Claim to U.S. citizenship” was proffering a birth certificate as proof of U.S. citizenship.  “John” took the birth certificate from the suspect across the counter, quickly glanced over the front, turned it over and stared at the blank back of the certificate for over a minute.  He handed it back and said “It looks good to me”.  I grabbed it back and asked “John”  “What is the date of birth on the certificate?”  “I don’t know” he said.  “Well, the certificate said “XXXX” and the suspect said he was XXX years old.  The math doesn’t match.  The guy is lying.”  This was one of the most basic techniques for determing fraud.  We eventually deported the suspect.  I took “John” aside and, despite federal civil service’s policy of ignoring incompetence, I told “John” he had no business being a sworn, federal law enforcement officer carrying a loaded weapon.  I told him he was a hazard to himself and fellow officers.  I suggested he find another line of work.  To his credit he shortly accepted a job as an intelligence analyst at a pork barrel intelligence facility in Pennsylvania.  The surprising thing – and to get to the point- was before he left he gave me what I consider the most important UNread book in America.

The title of the book is “Destructive Generation: Second Thoughts About the ’60s” by Peter Collier and David Horowitz (1996).  Dinesh D’Sousa, recently of “2016.  Hate Him/Like Him But You Don’t Know Him” about Barack Obama, said of the book “A rare and vivid glimpse into the bowels of hard radicalism”.  This book should be used in what used to be called “Civics” classes in every high school in America.  But there lies the problem.  According to Collier, one of the hidden agendas of the ’60s radicals was cooptation of the education system at all levels into the Leftist ideology.  They have succeeded.  My guesstimate is it took only long enough for the rich kids’ boredom with capitalism to get their Phds and start targeting jobs across America educating our youth – about the middle to late ’70s.

To prove a case in a criminal court the prosecution has to provide evidence “beyond a reasonable doubt” to convict.  This book meets that test …..and then some!   The crime these radicals should have been charged with is treason against the United States of America.  J. Edgar Hoover and very few others were trying to do just that.  But the media and cowardly congressmen refused to support the effort.  This was the issue upon which the media converted from journalists to propagandists for the Left.  The author was one of the founding members of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) the most militant “anti-war” groups in the nation. He was one of the three founding leaders of the group.  Among other startling revelations  Peter Collier states categorically that neither the SDS or any of the other “war protest” groups’ real agenda was ending the Vietnam War.  It was the destruction of American society – capitalism specifically.  One minor factor the “intellectuals” fail to mention when they rationalize communism or -to be politically  correct today- “progressivism” is that every communist/progressive leader from Karl Marx to Putin believes that communism can not exist until every other kind of political system in the world is eliminated – by violent revolutionary means.  No compromise, no power-sharing….just eradication of all opposing systems and persons.

Collier also testifies that the SDS, the Black Panthers, et. al. not only pursued a Socialist hidden agenda but their leaders went to Moscow to receive training at the Patrice LaMumba University for revolutionaries (the Black Panthers weren’t allowed inside “white” Moscow’s city limits).  They received funding from Moscow and strategic and tactical guidance from Moscow.  His epiphany that something was wrong occurred at his father’s funeral.  I thought it would have been during the group sex in the van on the way to blow up a college ROTC building.  It reminded me of a student I encountered while teachinhg at the U.S. Army Intelligence “Center of Excellence” at Ft. Huachuca.  I was invited to teach my (unsanctioned) counterinsurgency class to a class of 35F All-Source Intelligence Analysts.  As I compared the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution to the Communist Manifesto with historical results, I kept noticing a female student sitting at the back of the class continuously shaking her head in disagreement.  During the first break I asked her why.  She said, “My parents are life-long communists.  I was born and raised a communist.  I disagree with everything you said.”  This person was an 18 year old soon-to-become a military intelligence analyst with a Top Secret clearance.  The brouhaha over PFC Manning’s (another graduate of our “Center of Excellence”) compromise of war message traffic was still fresh news.  I took what she said to the local  902nd Counterintelligence office.  They told me there was nothing they could do.  The contract many of us with security clearances signed had the phrase “I am not now nor have I ever been a member of the communist party, or any other organization that advocates the violent overthrow of the American government” was taken out some years previously. She graduated and is out there somewhere  with a hidden agenda.

There is a direct line between Collier’s revelations, my young, communist intelligence analyst and our current presidential imposter.  The same “significant others” have been involved in the lives of all three.  The tragedy is that neither our current president nor my young student have had the epiphany that Collier finally had.  And the damage is increasing exponentially.
