Tyrannnicide Justified: A Reply to Alex Soros’ “47”

Our Founding Fathers knew history – a lot of it. They didn’t just grab
“That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, . . . But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. . . .” (Declaration of Independence, 1776)
out of their fourth point of contact. That is still the charter – the guiding principle- of this nation. Nothing and nobody has changed a word.

Historic examples of killing tyrannical kings are plentiful: Harmodius and Aristogeiton killed Hipparchus of Athens, Brutus drove Tarquinius from Rome; Julius Caesar by the Roman Senate.

“Who may justly be held a tyrant?  . . . We do not leave this to the decision of any individual, or even to the judgment of many unless the voice of the people takes part, and learned and serious men are associated in the deliberation. . . . But when a “prince” brings the country to ruin, abuses state property and the possessions of individuals, spurns public laws and holy religion, begins to assert himself arrogantly, insolently, and impiously, . . . when citizens have been deprived of the possibility of assembling for the general deliberation, but are earnestly minded to put an end to the existing tyranny – and supposing this to be notorious and unendurable . . . if in such a case any individual comes forward who responds to the general desire and offers to put such a ruler to death, I for one shall not regard him as an evil-doer. . . . It is a salutary reflection that princes have been persuaded that if they oppress the state. . . they can be killed not only justly but with praise and glory.” (Juan de Mariana 1536-1624); Durant VII:626

The difference between Alex Soros’ $47 implied murder of Donald Trump and Tyrannicide of an oppressive “prince” is the Declaration of Independence is on the side of Trump – and his MAGA tens of millions who, I believe, would not hold baby Soros unaccountable if anything happened to the next President of the United States. Alex should be praying – for his benefit – nothing happens to Donald.

The days of uttering threats with impunity are over. Self defense is still legal. Self government by the people is still our God-given right. We’ve waged war against tyranny many times. It would be ironic if the next war brought us full circle – for the same reasons.
