Self Defense

I just read an article reporting the liberal bastards trying to socialize our country have been clued in on the fact our military personnel are being trained in self-defense.  OMG! They are “clamoring” for it to be abolished – obviously as a very real threat should they have the temerity (how’s that for a metro-sexual word?) to spit on returning service members a la’ Vietnam or utter some assinine pacifist BS at a bar or family gathering.  Our OIC had to physically stand in the doorway of the bus and order us to take our seats as we returning Marines being bussed from Norton AFB to Camp Pendleton rose in unison to “close with and destroy” the enemy on our own soil.  I’m glad to see the Marines conducting practical, hand-to-hand Martial Arts (MCMAP) and the Army adopting at least some diluted form of the same. John Adams once said “If Ever a Time should come when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in government, Our government shall stand in need of its’ experienced patriots to prevent its’ ruin.”  I dream of the day when our judicial system from top to bottom supports defending not only the Constitution but conduct that preserves the sanctity of our most precious symbols: the flag and our uniforms.  In my dream world those who pummel flag burners into an unrecognizeable, gelatinous bio-mass are honored as parade marshalls.  Those who provide opportunities for anti-American smegma to use Obama-care win political office by landslides.  But, alas, the real world as it is now seems trending toward the same environment in which oriental marshal arts originated.  My step-brother Masaharu Tamashiro and I started studying martial arts on Okinawa in 1961.  Okinawa is known in some small circles as the “Sicily” of the Far East in that both China and Japan used the island as a place to test their armies.  The Okinawan people were banned from possessing any type of weapon.  Ergo, their unique brand of karate.  Under the same circumstances, Korea developed Tae-Kwon-Do.  I’ve always felt martial arts should be taught in all levels of public education.  Imagine the NEA/NTA hearing that!  As our political environment deteriorates along with the inevitable social entropy, achieving some degree of expertise at martial arts may become even more critical to combat our enemies….both foreign and domestic.   At least until one can pry a weapon from the cold, dead fingers of “Big Brother”.    If you think this is fantasy read Orwell’s “1984” or Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged”  – the latter being made into a movie with a recent sequel.  Truth is stranger than fiction.
