Putin may have stepped in it by requesting a special U.N. Security Council meeting claiming the U.S. and Ukraine have an ongoing NBC program. His obvious purpose is to obfuscate his criminality in the Court of Public Opinion. He has already won one major concession from our Secretary of State appropriately named “Blinken” by cowering him into saying “We’re trying to avoid World War III.” Putin is pre-orgasmic at the feckless ignorance of American diplomats.
Jean Francois Revel’s book How Democracies Perish describes American diplomatic history being rife with “pre-negotiation concessions.” Blinken just gave Putin the first concession in this crisis by publicly proclaiming his fear over starting World War III. He showed Putin the idea terrified him. It doesn’t terrify Putin and that gives Putin the edge. Blinken just blinked in the poker game of Democracy v. Communism. Blinken put the United States in a subordinate negotiating position before the Council has even met by showing fear – the same fear Chamberlain showed before Hitler, the same fear FDR showed before Stalin at Potsdam, the same fear Dulles showed before the North Koreans and China, and the same fear Kissinger showed before the North Vietnamese. Where do we get such spineless representatives of our national interest? From the east coast Ivy League colleges and the Council on Foreign Relations. That intellectually incestuous environment has bred out any semblance of testicular fortitude.
I hope Blinken, Winkin, and Nod have the cerebral capacity to collect the monumental amount of direct evidence of Russia’s historical use of biological and chemical weapons. The reason Putin is able to manipulate this theater is because he hasn’t been held accountable for it in the past. He should have been tried and convicted in the World Court years ago the same as the Serbian general now doing hard time.
Remember JFK’s briefing announcing the Cuban missile crisis? Against the advice of his military leadership and non-air breathing collection analysts, he showed America annotated satellite imagery of the Russian missile emplacements in Cuba. He explained these nuclear missiles could reach the interior of the United States in mere minutes. BTW, he didn’t rely on imagery, he tasked Felix Rodriguez – a HUMINT asset – (see: Shadow Warrior) with infiltrating Cuba and taking photos up close before going public with the information. [Note: I met Felix at Hurlburt Field, Florida back in the day. He showed us Che’ Guevara’s watch. He infiltrated Cuba a couple of times. Felix has brass appendages.]
If Blinken is smart he will mimic JFK and present undeniable direct evidence of Russia’s previous use of biological and chemical weapons in London, Afghanistan, Syria, Chechnya, and other locales in large, glossy photographs with accompanying chemical analysis tagging them to the Russians before the U.N. Security Council – and challenge Russian ambassador Nebenzya to counter with the same against the U.S. and Ukraine. Make sure the photos are large enough for the cameras to see clearly. The world will be watching.
My money is Nebenzya will walk out – or cancel the meeting beforehand. Case closed. But that won’t prevent Putin from using the weapons. He hasn’t been punished in the past and, most likely, he won’t be punished severely enough this time to prevent his use of them now or in the future – like against Poland, Latvia, Estonia, or Lithuania. Not with this Administration.
This is just the first year of Biden….. . This what the Democrats, the RINO Republicans, and those who voted for them created. The blood of thousands (and counting) is on your hands.
