Contrary to the former DHS bureaucrat’s opinion on NewsMax, “The Bung Show” Sunday March 22, 2026; “Historically, the job of going after the “worst of the worst” has NOT been the responsibility of ICE.
It has been the job of the U.S Marshal’s Office. It still should be – not the politicized Police State apparatchiks of the Oval Office.
But, yes, as he said: “If the U.S. Marshals need additional support, yeah! they CAN be supplemented by any of the OTHER 23 federal law enforcement agencies!
More proof that DHS and ICE are superfluous to national security.
America’s security does not, will not, and never has depended on a 9/11 knee-jerk, creation of a monolithic, omnipotent federal law enforcement bureaucracy.
NOTE: 9/11 occurred for two reasons: Hillary Clinton prohibiting the FBI and CIA from sharing intelligence on terrorists (labeled “Clinton’s Wall”), and the Airline Industry lobbying the State Department to order the Immigration & Naturalization Service to “DON’T FUCK WITH THE 7As! (the hundreds of foreign students re-entering the U.S. with expired Student Visas)” because the airlines had to pay for that seat for the invalid entrant to be returned to their home country.
Nineteen of the twenty 9/11 terrorists entered on expired Student Visas.
But, as usual, just reading the summary of the 9/11 Commission Report won’t tell you that. That’s what the politicians on the 9/11 Committee depended on – no one reading the whole thing.
If you do read the whole Report, you will reach the same conclusion.
It gets worse – MUCH worse – when you read the whole thing.
If you think Hillary Clinton should be in prison (or worse) for her callous cover up of her mega-version of Col. North’s aid to the Contras at Benghazi, that ain’t nothing compared to her cancellation of Executive Order 12333 requiring the CIA and FBI to share Intel on terrorist threats to the U.S. (see: “Clinton’s “Wall” and 911” this site dated January 5, 2018)
Having spent a portion of my military career as a counterintelligence officer with Special Forces I knew what the US Government’s intelligence community’s (IC) capabilities were.
I used them in the field and taught the IC hierarchy, capabilities and responsibilities as a Master instructor at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center & School, Ft. Huachuca. AZ.
I also saw and experienced the myopic vision of military commanders with preconceived biases toward tactical and operational courses of action despite clear threat indicators to the contrary.
I also FREQUENTLY saw how administrations through their State department Disney diplomacy chose to ignore the inconvenient Intelligence Truth – and how that cost lives.
Just one example was the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut. Unfortunately, there have been many other unnecessary deaths for the same reasons since then.
I’ve also seen the feckless history of congressional committees in never finding the Real Truth or holding ANYONE ACCOUNTABLE. (see: DisInformation by Ion Mihai Pacepa, 2013; 483 pages)
It was that experience and knowledge that made me declare out loud to an empty den on 9/11 “Somebody knew this was going to happen – and No one wanted to hear it. NOW THOSE SAME DEAF BUREAUCRATS are going to throw billions of dollars to create another bureaucracy – and we will be NO SAFER than before 9/11.”
Both Parties have since clearly demonstrated Bush, Jr.’s. “Never letting a good crisis go to waste” by concentrating more power in the Central Government.
Both Parties have used creation of the Department of Homeland “Security” to identify, track, persecute and prosecute American citizens who have exercised their First Amendment privilege.
The Left called them “Hitler“, “Nazis,” and “Fascists.”
The Right calls them “domestic terrorists.”
Both are wrong.
And so was the creation of DHS, a DNI and TSA.
TSA should have been privatized a long time ago – as stipulated by Congress. (see: “TSA! GO AWAY!” this site dated 2016/06/10)
Though it’s the MAGA Media that’s the current apologist for DHS now (as part of their political fellatio of Trump), both the GOP Right and the Dem Left have demonstrated very clearly their proclivity for prosecuting their political agendas at both extremes using their 9/11 fabricated Department of Homeland “Security“ against any American citizen voicing their constitutional Right to disagree with the government.
The Dems used the IRS to eliminate non-profit tax status for the Tea Party and to target other conservatives for selective prosecution (with the gleeful acquiescence of the GOP elite who escorted Tea Party members out of the GOP convention in Houston under armed security declaring “we have to rid ourselves of those religious, gun owners!”
More indicators of the Uni-Party.
The GOP used DHS to violate the rights of citizens to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness by murdering two citizens then preventing investigation and prosecution of the ICE shooters. Trump and Apparatchik General Pam Bondi violated the rights of citizens by letting it be known that ICE agents had carte blanche to grab anyone “not looking like a US citizen” and putting them in detention in order to gain “the numbers” that would look good on the evening news.
While I was manning the pedestrian lane of the Douglas, AZ Port of Entry as an Immigration Inspector one afternoon, a white family passed through the turnstile and proceeded onward without declaring their citizenship.
“Whoa!” I said, “What’s your citizenship?” I asked.
“We’re U.S. citizens! Don’t we look like U.S. citizens?” the husband asked incredulously.
I was sitting next to Customs Officer Moses Dominguez – a Hispanic Air Force veteran of Vietnam whose brother had been killed in Vietnam; a black Immigration Inspector from Chicago, and an American / Korean Immigration Inspector and Navy veteran from California.
“Which one of us is a U.S. citizen?” I asked.
They were from Minnesota.

Further evidence of Central Government’s grab for power- and even more disturbing – is the latest National Security Presidential Memorandum-7 (NSPM-7):
“Issued by President Trump on September 25, 2025, is the latest directive targeting domestic threats, focusing on “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence“. It directs federal agencies to disrupt networks involved in political violence and intimidation, with a strong emphasis on investigating financial flows and targeting organizations engaged in radicalization.” – Google AI
The problem with this is – as amply demonstrated in Minnesota – the offenses can be interpreted according to who occupies the Oval Office. Not only is this the first Memorandum on National Security to focus within the boundaries of the United States but it totally ignores the very real threats of Russia (Trump’s butt-buddy) and China (Trump’s daughter’s financial Godfather).
If allowed to continue, particularly under another Trump sycophant with “anger issues” as DHS Secretary, DHS will become the Internal Police arm of the National Security Directive.
This would create a particularly pernicious tool during the 2028 midterm elections.
If election integrity is an issue the U.S. Marshal’s and bi-partisan observers at the state and local level should be ensuring only those legally entitled to vote do. Not the partisan, police arm of the Central Government.
It can’t get more Orwellian!
DHS should not only be defunded – it should be abolished.
America’s security will not be decreased. It will be improved by eliminating a monolithic, politicized Government police force.
D.O.G.E.ing DHS will not only improve America’s security – it will restore the security of American’s Constitutional Rights.
And let the FBI and the CIA return to being “big boys” doing their previously sterling jobs without BIG BROTHER not just babysitting them but getting in the way of them protecting America.
Simply from a public administrative perspective creating a federal bureaucracy “responsible” for supervising 23 separate other bureaucracies is ludicrously impossible.
Trump campaigned on the promise to eliminate a bloated government. He apparently only meant those bureaucracies he couldn’t put to his personal use.
Like the old American Indian saying: [DHS is a matter of ] “Too many Chiefs and not enough Indians.”
Max Weber and Steven Covey would be appalled – not surprised – but appalled.
American voters and taxpayers should be too.
