Trumph’s recent scolding of the United Nations reminds one of Joe Biden’s speech of clarity the last months of his administration. Pundits wondered what Biden’s staff “juiced” him up with for him to speak so uncharacteristically articulate.
The same can be asked of Trumph1 during his recent moment of clarity at the United Nations.
Trumph’s lambasting of the UN is not out of character but it is also not to be depended on.
Michael Wolff described Trumph in his book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” as “wide-ranging ignorance”. For example, Sam Nunburg, a campaign advisor, tried to explain the U.S. Constitution to Trump but could not get past the Fourth Amendment.” Trump’s lawyer Marc Kasowitz “had gotten Trump out of all kinds of jams on the campaign – what did we have, a hundred women? Kasowitz took care of all of them.” Staffers generally treated Trumph as a child due to his ignorance and naivete‘.
According to Wolff who has taped interviews with staffers “100% of them believe Trump is unfit for office.”
Seems like Biden’s staffers weren’t the only ones covering up incompetence. I wonder if Trump’s auto-pen was as abused as Biden’s?
Jeffrey Epstein, convicted pedophile and Trumph’s best friend for 10 years confirms Trumph’s lack of intelligence and character. (see: Listen to the Jeffrey Epstein Tapes: “I Was Donald Trump’s Closest Friend” https://docs.house.gov)
John Bolton worked for Reagan, Bush 41, and Bush 43. His book “The Room Where It Happened” documents his daily dealings as National Security Advisor to a Trumph who: “thought foreign policy is like closing a real estate deal – about personal relationships [over political and ideological reality], decision-making based on made-for- TV-showmanship, and advancing his own interests.”
Bolton documents Trumph only superficially seeking advice from his advisors – mainly to confirm his opinion; an opinion based on his belief North Korean President Kim Jung Un “really wants to talk to me!” though there was no indication such was the case. Trumph spontaneously suggested a face-to-face with the North Korean president against the advice of every one of his advisors saying after the debacle “I think Un likes me!”
The same thing Trumph has said about Putin for years.
Bolton eventually resigned in disgust at Trumph’s unreliable, flip flopping policies based on his delusions of personal likeability or what would make him look “Great” to the American public regardless of the lack of real political substance (grandstanding).
Bolton describes his experience as Trumph’s National Security Advisor in one word: “chaotic.”
Bolton resigned after Trump – famous for undermining his staffers’ advice – ignored Bolton’s on Ukraine, blamed Bolton for the failure and accused Bolton of being a “leaker.”
Trumph would agree with his advisors one minute then later that night (or hours or a week later Tweet a totally opposite position undermining his staffers and embarrassing the United States – or unexpectedly granting incredible pre-negotiation concessions in face-to-face negotiations.2 He did this with North Korea, Argentina, China, Iran, Israel, Ukraine and Russia.
Trumph shocked his staffers by deciding meeting face-to-face with Iran’s Ayatollah was a “Great” idea – again asserting the Ayatollah was “dying to meet him.”
That disaster was narrowly avoided.
Trumph continues to do this during his current administration.
Three key people who knew and worked closely with Trumph and have no reason to lie have independently documented the same specific incidents and personality quirks that describe Trumph’s administration as “chaotic.”
Trumph’s current administration only confirms their assessment:
So how credible is Trumph’s scolding of the UN? Not very. His criticisms are accurate and more than justified – but…
A better question is how substantive is his criticism? Again, not very – in fact, totally without substance.
Trumph continues to avoid implementing the sanctions on Putin and Russia that would strangle his occupation of Ukraine and bring the war to an almost immediate end – regardless of whether the EU buys oil and gas from Russia or not.
Trumph’s speech was conducted with the intent to divert public attention away from Trumph’s refusal to punish Putin’s conduct after the Alaska “Sinkhole” and to desperately divert Americans’ short attention span from his efforts to thwart release of damning documents from the Epstein files.
Trumph is the consummate shell game con artist: “Watch this hand while the other hides the pea.”
Trump continues to be Putin’s “Chump“3.
Trumph continues blaming others for his failure to “end the war within 24 hours with half a brain.” In this case, the EU and NATO. It’s true they shouldn’t be buying oil and gas from Russia while Putin is encroaching on their collective sovereignty. But that’s no excuse for Trumph not imposing sanctions.
Those sanctions would have the same immediate effect on Putin’s cross-border incursions as America’s southern border wall has had on illegal entries. (There’s no such thing as “illegal immigration“)
Trumph really doesn’t want to offend his business partner Putin. Trumph’s vacuous4 “I’m not happy about it” is small comfort to Ukrainians dying every day from Trumph’s refusal to impose sanctions.
Trumph’s castigation of the UN’s feckless administration toward world peace makes for euphoric public consumption in the US tired of funding an organization with a history of anti-American policies and rhetoric – but it has no teeth.
Trumph could impose financial and economic sanctions on the UN that, perhaps, might wring a change in attitude within the UN – like Reagan did.
Or, Trumph could take this opportunity to DOGE and DEPORT the United Nations to a more like-minded country like France, Iran or Russia.
A move that is long over due.
But, “sadly” (as Trumph likes to say about his inability to solve human tragedies like Ukraine), that would take Statesmanship, geopolitical acumen and a moral compass.
None of which Trumph possessses.
Trumph’s foreign policy decisions are like the sine wave on an oscilloscope.
Trumph’s moral compass has a Putin magnet hovering over it making it rotate at 120 rpms.
Instead, Trumph continues to fund the anti-American United Nations and refuses to stop funding Russia. Is he still hoping to win the contract to remodel the UN building? Is his contract for Trump Tower: Moscow still on the table with Putin?
It appears so. That’s the danger of a myopic Midasian who values property and profit over the lives and freedom of oppressed populations.
Trumph’s UN assertions are as permanent as the next time Putin and Trumph have a “Great conversation.”
“Great” for whom?
Trumph is a myopic materialist – kind of an amateur economist.
“Nobody can be a great economist who is only an economist. The economist who is only an economist is likely to become a nuisance if not a positive danger to society. The curious task of economics is to demonstrate to men how little they really know about what they imagine they can design.” – F.A. Hayak

3 Chump – a stupid, foolish, or easily deceived person; as in Trump the Chump
4 Vacuous – a. lacking intelligence; stupid or empty-headed; b. Devoid of substance or meaning; vapid or inane. Both apply to Trumph.
