The Department of Homeland Security needs to be D.O.G.E.ed for the same reasons Trump is eliminating the Department of Education:
– DHS has become the politicized, pseudo-law enforcement Police State tool of both Left and Right administrations. Just as the Department of Education.
– DHS violates the most important administrative efficiency principle by piling on another layer of required permission, authorization and coordination from an unnecessary extra layer of bureaucracy. Just as the Department of Education.
– Instead of creating another monolithic bureaucracy in knee-jerk response to 9/11, the government should have rectified the reasons 9/11 occurred according the 9/11 Commission Report.
– Instead of creating another monolithic Police State “Big Brother,” the government should have increased manpower, logistics and sharing of intelligence between the FBI (for domestic enforcement) and the CIA for international security.
If the government had paid attention to the CIA and FBI, 9/11 would not have occurred. (see: The 9/11 Commission Report)
Just like the DEA and Coast Guard are doing their jobs against drug smuggling.
What do Mogadishu, Somalia and Minneapolis / St.Paul, Minnesota have in common?
The “Mog” was a Clinton Administration debacle created in significant part due to what became known as “the CNN Effect.” Americans were appalled at the devastation in Somalia caused by drought, starvation and civil war – in that order.
The Truth was all three of those had been going on for several years – only to an exponentially more devastating degree – in Ethiopia as well.
Why did the “Clinton News Network” focus solely on the crisis in Somalia?
Why did the “U.N.” (the U.S.) choose to intervene in Somalia instead of Ethiopia?
Because the UN Secretary General Boutros-Boutros Gali was co-president with deposed Somalia president Siad Barre of the Somalia National Bank and both wanted control of “their” money back.
Prior to Siad Barre being run out of office for corruption by Aideed, Somali citizens had to obtain permission from the Bank’s president before withdrawing or transferring money from their own accounts – permission that was almost never given. It’s one of the many reasons why Aideed had the support of such a significant number of the Somali population.
In many ways, Aideed was Somalia‘s Ho Chi Minh.
It wasn’t “their” money any more than it was the IMF’s or the U.N.‘s.
It wasn’t even the U.S. government’s money.
Like the tens of billions of dollars funneled into ludicrous USAID fronts for diabolical political use, it was American tax payers’ money being laundered by our elected officials through a foreign failed state.
Somalia had long been known as the financial “black hole” of the International Monetary Fund. and yet several U.S. Administrations continued funding IMF’s funneling dollars into the Somalia National Bank.
Senator Patrick Moynihan (D) NY was appointed United States Ambassador to the United Nations by President Ford (R). He served only three months (September 8, 1992-January 3, 1993) before resigning in disgust at seeing so many “diplomats” leaving the UN building “with briefcases stuffed with cash.”
What he didn’t say – publicly- was nobody in the Administration was going to do anything about it.
Private corporations shelter their price-gouging profits in off-shore accounts in places like Barbados, the Curicaos or Zurich.
Government Administrations hide their stolen tax payers’ money in “NGOs” and UN laundering bureaucracies, or in the banks of Third World dictators. (see: Continuing Resolution paragraph funding 8 billion dollars for DoD to “increase competition among Defense contractors”.)
You don’t attain the exalted position of UN Secretary General by being the best qualified and astute diplomat of the 180+ country membership.
It takes cash the same way America’s “Two-Party” monopoly requires massive bucks to arrive at the “best” candidates tax payers’ money can buy. (See: The Shame of Our Cities by Lincoln Steffens, 1904)
By UNOSOM Commander General Montgomery making it “personal” demanding the arrest of Aideed (who had control of the bank – and not his Abghal opponent) Task Force Ranger was unknowingly thrust into the role of UN bounty hunters.
Their target fixation on Aideed, their repeated tactical SOP in attempting his capture, and their demographic myopia resulted in the deaths of some very brave men.
The same thing is happening in Minnesota for the almost identical reasons – and, unless DHS is withdrawn soon (and dismantled)- brave men will die as bounty hunters for politicians that created the crisis in the first place.
Like House majority leader Mike Johnson claiming “We didn’t know” about the massive Fraud, Waste and Abuse in USAID, it is beyond credulity Republican administrations did not know about the massive fraud in social welfare programs. Like the Dems, the Republicans were as terrified of taking away cash in the pockets of any demographic as much as they are afraid of fixing Social Security.
If a truly non-Partisan national audit does occur, my money is on the Red states being as involved in the massive Welfare Fraud and the Blue states. The only difference is – like the Epstein Files – a GOP congress will audit their states last giving them time to 1. destroy the evidence, and, 2. wait for the short attention span of the American public to tire of the whole thing.
Note: Trump‘s claim “if the Dems had anything on him regarding the Epstein Files they would have used it years ago” fails the sniff test when both Parties are equally enmeshed in Epstein’s debauchery.
The Trump administration and the GOP controlled congress wouldn’t even now be exhibiting such pseudo self-righteous indignation at the massive fraud in the government or in Minnesota if it hadn’t been for two outside the beltway, non-partisan people with a social conscience: Elon Musk and Nick Shirley.
Like the Clinton’s Mogadishu, the Minnesota miasma began as an attempt to recoup money for corrupt politicians. The Uni-Party’s use of their Police State bureaucracy: over reach of DHS cowboy cops against illegals and citizens alike morphed into generalized chaos inciting the general population against forces who were deployed there with the ostensive motive to help the very people who are resisting them.
Like Mogadishu, Minnesota will end the same way: with a lot of bloodshed until the perceived occupying force leaves.
