During the Vietnam War the Viet Cong called the American infantry “Elephant Legs” due to their penchant for tramping through the jungle like a herd of elephants. (see: A Viet Cong Memoir: An Inside Account of the Vietnam War and Its’ Aftermath by Truong Nhu Tang, April 1986)
Trump and his herd administration are doing the same thing on the world stage and – very frequently – domestically.
In September, Trump signed an executive order designating Antifa as a “domestic terrorist organization.” Days later, Trump issued National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 (NSPM-7) on Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence.
As written, NSPM-7 is doomed to fail in court – like the aborted cases against Comey and James. (see: Trump’s Orders Targeting Anti-Fascism Aim to Criminalize Opposition by Faiza Patel, October 9, 2025; Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law)
There’s a concept in American jurisprudence called “innocent until proven guilty.” While many Americans feel there is an organized effort to destabilize America and subvert the constitution (this writer included), proving it is another thing.
There is another axiom in law that says “Better ten guilty men go free than one innocent man be falsely imprisoned.”
I had doubts about this last concept until I personally experienced an illegal arrest and undeserved physical abuse by a few badge-heavy, California deputies.
Not all cops are “heroes.” Not every cop should be a cop (by a lot!). But I still, tenuously grasp onto my faith that most are good human beings.
Neither are all political protestors domestic terrorists.
Trump is playing to the most basic, animal instincts of the mob by unilaterally issuing presidential directives that, in reality, are Constitutionally not his to make – and dangerous domestically and internationally.
If real patriots really believe in the Constitution as a sacred, inspired document then they will base their opinions on what is legal and moral under the Constitution – not what a demagogue appeals to their bloodlust-based, mob psychology.
That doesn’t mean it can’t be done. It just means having the right people doing the thing they do best – building a case that will stand the test of judicial review.
Trump is like a gelded Arab horse who has a fancy gait but is really good for nothing else but show. What America needs is a good plow horse willing to lean into the harness and do the hard work of discovering the facts before claiming “GREAT!” victories.
Like RICO cases, the evidence against organized domestic political violence is in financial and data forensics.
During a 1960s FBI raid on a Black Panther headquarters in Chicago, a letter was found in the apartment proving the Black Panther movement and the Students for Democratic Society (SDS) were receiving training, financial and logistical support from the KGB – the communist Soviet Union’s State Intelligence department. “The Vietnam antiwar protest movement was always a facade for subverting the Constitution of the United States.” (see: Peter Collier and David Horowitz‘ Destructive Generation: Second Thoughts About the Sixties; 1996)
Trump should replace his “central casting”, cosmetic-plastered, plastic surgery enhanced appointees with actual subject matter experts who know how to collect evidence of conspiracy to commit acts of political violence – much like RICO cases are built against the Mafia – then stay out of the way.
Trump’s lifetime preoccupation with debauchery has limited his intellect. It is compounded by his megalomania. That is what created chaos in his first administration and it continues into his second.
If Trump would quit thinking with his “other” head, he might stop stepping on it.
