The Great State of Texas is taking border security into their own hands and building additions to Trump’s border wall. That’s commendable. Too bad the effort is being undermined by their own bureaucrats.
Texas has a reason to be proud of its independence. Like that of the United States it was bought with a bloody Revolution at places like Goliad, The Alamo and San Jacinto. The difference between Texas and the United States is that most Texans haven’t forgotten their birthright.
But like all great Republics, Texas has a cancer in their midst. I’m not speaking of Democrats – though they are probably complicit in the treason I speak of. I’m speaking of public officials who use their positions to undermine the constitutional foundations of state and American citizenship.
I wrote in my book 10 Years on the Line: My War on the Border there could be a wall fifty feet high and twenty feet wide the entire length of the U.S. / Mexican border and it wouldn’t stop illegal aliens from entering the United States. The reason I wrote it then was because of my experience working with fellow immigration / CBP officers at the Douglas, AZ Port of Entry who didn’t believe a border, Ports of Entry, or documentation was necessary for their fellow Hispanics to enter the United States. Many – including supervisors and Port Directors – told me it was Mexicans right to enter the U.S. and their job was a service to provide that right. In a federal agency responsible for border security that is 80% Hispanic that’s a problem.
After my book was published I was contacted by a reader from England. I don’t know how he knew this but he told me since my book was published in 2011 CPB began using polygraphs when renewing security clearances for border patrol and CBP officers on the Mexican border. They discovered 7o% of Hispanic officers had dual U.S. / Mexican citizenship. Dual citizenship violates the oath of citizenship for naturalized citizens and is a conflict of interest for both native-born and naturalized officers working on the border. Federal law prohibits federal law enforcement officers from having dual citizenship. CBP has ignored that law for several decades.
In the 1990s, the Mexican government began a program of encouraging Hispanic American citizens to “remain Mexican” by increasing the number of “cultural centers” in the United States, issuing “tarjetas de votar” (voting registration cards) that would allow them to vote in Mexican elections and possibly fool U.S. and state law enforcement officials into thinking that card allowed them legal presence into the U.S. and eligible for driver’s licenses, etc.
Most Texans are proud of being American, well, being Texan then American. I understand why. But there are Texans in key offices who are undermining that distinction. When I was a CBP officer at the Douglas, AZ Port of Entry, we all received an advisory from Headquarters, INS. This was around 1998 or so:
“Malfeasance within Starr and Cameron County, Texas Offices: The Texas Vital Records Offices of Starr and Cameron County are having internal control problems. A recent investigation revealed that issuance of all birth certificates issued by the Office of the County Clerk for Starr County, Texas and Cameron County, Texas are to be considered “Suspect.” The security paper is good – the information is fraudulent. Do not verify these certificates with the issuing office. These certificates need to be verified by the Austin Bureau of Vital Statistics, Fraud Prevention Program at 512-458-7395 by calling Josie Pardo or Anthea Rodriguez. A Sample of a Cameron County birth certificate and Starr County birth certificate is attached for your information.”
Texans are building their wall in Starr County.
The reason there are between 12 million and 20 million illegals in the United States is not just due to those who have overstayed their visas – a problem easily fixed if Congress would follow the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission to institute a Visa Exit program. Both Republicans and Democrats have denied funding that program three times. It is also due to local, state and federal bureaucrats who are selling documents to illegals. It is a national problem that needs to be punished by long prison terms.
This makes our southern land border a Maginot Line. It makes CBP Ports of Entry Potemkin Villages.
