Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was called “Tampon” Tim for installing feminine hygiene products in boys locker rooms.
Trump’s default, Potemkin “Deals” – feckless in the face of failed bluster – make Walz look like an amateur.
While Trump callously obliges murderous dictators’ obfuscation, oppressed populations continue hemorrhaging.
At least under Walz’ bizarre policy tens of thousands of freedom-loving men, women, and children aren’t continuing to be massacred.
Walz boasted openly of his support for transgender rights.
Trump barely conceals his adulation for Putin or his cowardice in confronting clerical genocide.
Trump persists in ignoring the obvious moral and legal imperatives required for international peace by failing to respond expeditiously and effectively to stopping oppression by murderous dictators.
Instead, Trump continues “dealing” with them as if they were simply business partners and in ways intended to benefit him personally. Trump has no moral compass. As a result, innocent men, women and children continue to bleed and die by the thousands.
When Trump said he could solve Putin’s invasion of Ukraine “in 24 hours with half a brain;” when Trump said “if Hamas doesn’t turn over the hostages within 24 hours there will be hell to pay,” when Trump told the world if the Ayatollah didn’t stop killing the protestors there would be serious consequences,” – and in all three cases there were no consequences at all – people wanting to be free in Ukraine, Gaza, and Iran died and continue to die believing Trump had their back.
The Cuban resistance under Castro felt the same way about Kennedy – and died at the Bay of Pigs as a result. (see: Dagger in the Heart: American Policy Failures in Cuba by Mario Lazo;1968, 447 pgs.)
Instead, Trump’s bluff was called and he deflected his error by entering into his feckless “Art of the Deal” negotiations – every time giving the oppressors the political and tactical advantage while innocent people continued to die by the thousands.
This is just one of the consequences of electing a megalomaniacal, morally bankrupt coward to the presidency of the most powerful nation on earth.
MAGA Media is fond of frequently broadcasting Treasury Secretary Bessent’s quote: “People shouldn’t be so fixated on what Trump says but on what he does.”
That’s the most asinine, sycophantic piece of political poppycock I’ve ever heard. I doubt anyone in the State Department would agree with that preposterous proclamation. (see: The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir by John Bolton, 2020; 494 pgs.)
Bessent’s comment only proves the extent to which Trump’s Cabinet will go to cover for Trump’s chaotic self-serving myopia.
Bluster is defined as talk in loud, aggressive, boastful, or threatening way with little effect, as in “you threaten and bluster but won’t carry it through.” Like someone “talking big” or putting on a show of bravado that’s mostly just noise or empty threats. It describes noisy, arrogant behavior that doesn’t back up its words, often used to sound tough or intimidating but failing to impress.” – Oxford Dictionary.
Trump’s bluster is a high functioning autistic form of emotional manipulation much like denigrating threats and unjust withholding privileges is a form of child abuse.
When Reagan challenged Gorbachev to “Tear down this wall!” on June 12, 1987, Eastern Europe was inspired to challenge seventy years of communist oppression. The Polish Solidarity Movement dock workers rose up against Jarulzeski and toppled their dictator. The smallest countries in Europe: Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia rose up against the Soviet Union.
The Berlin Wall fell two years later on November 9, 1989.
The differences between Reagan and Trump are myriad. One thing the oppressed throughout the world knew about Reagan was he would actually do something to help them. Reagan unleashed the CIA, NSA, Voice of America and other classified assets to assist the Polish resistance topple their communist dictator.
And Reagan didn’t blame the freedom fighters for the conflict.
Ukraine: Instead of immediately implementing crippling sanctions against Russia that would have strangled the invasion and required a complete pull out, Trump performs political fellatio on Putin and blames the invasion on Zelensky. And when “that dog didn’t hunt” with the American public, Trump decided to abandon Ukraine to the Russian bear entirely.
Like the spoiled brat he is. If the other kids don’t play by his rules he takes his ball and goes home. (read: The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, 1939; 528 pgs.)
Iran: Trump publicly demanding the Ayatollah stop killing protestors had the same effect on the Iranian population as Reagan’s demand to Gorbachev had on Eastern Europe. It inspired them to continue protesting believing Trump would keep his word.
Instead, they are paving the streets of Iran with their blood by the tens of thousands while Trump deflects his feckless bluff with negotiations about Iran’s nuclear capability – a capability Trump boasted of obliterating (after Israel paved the air space for him).
I guess it depends on what Trump means by “obliterating” – much like Bill Clinton’s definition of “sex.” Clinton did – Trump didn’t.
Responsibility for the Iranian government’s continued slaughter of their own people falls, once again, squarely on Trump’s head.
If the leader of the free world is going to encourage an oppressed population with the threat of serious consequences to their oppressor “if the killings continue,” he is morally bound to immediately follow through with action that leaves no doubt in the mind of the ayatollah and the IRG that murdering their own people by the tens of thousands has immediate, serious, and egregious consequences.
For a man who claims he “just wants the killing to stop” Trump is taking his sweet ass time taking steps to stop the killing.
Trump has no clue how to fight communism or international terrorism.
Not surprising for someone who avoided military service and has never been in a fight in his life.
The center of gravity in Iran is the pro-western Iranian people. The Iranian people are not Vietnamese or Venezuelans.
The Ukrainian and Iranian people are willing to pay the ultimate price for their freedom.
The only modern general who knew how to fight this kind of conflict was Major General Sidney Shachnow (see: Major General Shachnow brief history, Army.mil“) His concept “Peel the Onion” is what is needed now in Iran:
- The pro-democracy Iranian people are Unorganized and Unarmed.
- The U.S. needs to support and assist Iranian ex-patriots in organizing resistance: politically, logistically, financially, militarily
- Arm the resistance. Like Reagan did in Central America and Poland and Lansdale did in the Philippines.
- Target the popularly discredited Clerical leadership and the IRG like the Colombians did to take out Pablo Escobar – isolate and track them down.
And it needs to happen now.
Until Trump gets off his “Dealing” ass, the Iranian people will continue to die like sheep to the slaughter.
Their blood is crying from the streets, hospitals and homes of Iran for justice and freedom.
Their blood is on Trump’s head.
