President Trump,
“The UN is in greater disarray now than it was ten years ago. There seems little prospect of it rising above its intrinsic weaknesses; lack of authority; undependable execution and, most of all, the predominance of myopic self-interest in almost every calculation of its constituent states.” – Lester Pearson, President of the UN Assembly, 1978; Higgins, The Seventh Enemy, p. 177
Based on Elon’s DOGE criteria to ferret out Fraud, Waste and Abuse in government spending, Homan’s criteria for deporting criminal aliens and “risks to national security,” and your criteria for reciprocal trade tariffs isn’t it about time the United Nations is sent packing to some overseas country where it would be more in line with its Socialist agendas?
Somewhere like Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Beijing, or Tehran?
The “United” Nations has failed in its mission as completely and as disastrously as The Department of Education.
I don’t believe even Democrats can muster up an argument that the United States is getting any benefit whatever from the United Nations occupying space in America.
In 2023, the last year for which figures are available, the United States government gave the United Nations $13 billion.
That would contribute substantially to DOGE’s goal of saving taxpayers $1 trillion in wasteful spending.
By removing the United Nations from occupying space in New York City the building could be rented to legitimate thriving enterprises that actually paid their bills = the same as other U.S. government buildings taxpayers are paying the rent for and are standing empty.
Heck, if the members of the U.N. just paid their traffic tickets it would solve NYC‘s deficit.
