It didn’t take long for Hegseth to become one of the swamp creatures – leaking classified information with the same disregard as a congressman leaking closed-door discussions. Not unexpected for someone who intentionally and shamefully used military service as a springboard for political gain.
Hegseth is acting like that immature, nerdy naval lieutenant who joins in singing with the crew in Captain and Commander. Hegseth’s impulse to share classified information to those around him who are not on a “need to know” basis is evidence of his immaturity and unworthiness to hold that job.
Trump incredibly saying “no harm, no foul” doesn’t cut it. I expect no less from a Commander-in-Chief who lied about “heel spurs” to avoid serving his country. If the next time “The Mouth” Hegseth blabs and troops get killed THEN he gets fired? A little late for the dead warriors’ families.
Not only does Hegseth have oral diarrhea, he’s a nepotist: someone who practices the unfair use of power or influence to promote or benefit relatives or close friends.
Acting more like a member of Congress than a former servicemember, Hegseth hired his brother Phil at the Pentagon as a Department of Homeland Security “Security Liaison” and “Senior Advisor.”
Hegseth is in violation of the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978 and 5 United States Code (U.S.C.) 2302(b)(7) and 3110(b) regarding nepotism:
“These laws prohibit the appointment, employment, promotion, or advancement of relatives in civilian positions within the federal government, and they also prohibit preferential treatment of relatives by individuals in positions of authority.”
Only the President of the United States can be a nepotist legally – no one else.
Aside from the egregious violation of nepotism, what are brother Phil’s Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) he brings to such an esteemed (and well-paying) position.? If Trump didn’t have a “mandate” any congressman with any integrity would conduct an ethics investigation into Hegseth’s conduct – and Phil’s bona fides.
If “The Mouth” Hegseth will show favoritism hiring his brother to work under him, what will he do to curry favor with defense contractors?
Hegseth’s is showing a Hillary-esque disrespect for his office. Hmmm, “Hillary” Hegseth“? Does kind of sing, doesn’t it?
Hegseth is a danger to every person in uniform and should resign or be fired for the same reason Hillary Clinton was – and should have been.
The more Trump reigns the more he looks like Biden. Remember he enabled his daughter to negotiate a sweetheart monopoly trade deal with Chinese Premier XI at Mar-a-Lago the day after Trump’s first inauguration.
Whereas Biden stroked Iran’s genitals financially. Trump is performing political fellatio on Putin putting the Ukrainian population at risk of decimation by the Russians – all to preserve his Trump Tower: Moscow.
Hmm, is Trump focusing on China rather than Russia because China isn’t greasing a deal for a Trump Tower: Beijing?
Seems Trump and Hegseth have the same lack of consciences – and motivations.
Interesting that Trump backs an immature, security risk SECDEF but didn’t back Major General Flynn when he needed it – and certainly earned and deserved it. Probably because Trump can’t stand anyone who doesn’t grovel. And he HATES being proven he’s wrong.
